The issue of texting while driving has been a topic of contention for some time and with good reason. Research shows that people under the age of 45 send and receive three times more text messages than calls on their cell phones. 77% of respondents said they have texted while driving. The Department of Transporation (DOT) has already issued a policy barring operators of commercial motor vechiles (CMVs) from sending text messages from cellular devices while driving. The ban became effective January 27, 2010.
According to Oprah.com, “Nearly 500,000 people are injured and 6,000 are killed each year because drivers are talking, texting and e-mailing behind the wheel.” Tomorrow, April 30th, is the first-ever National No Phone Zone Day. Oprah Winfrey is bringing this issue to the forefront by spreading the word all over the country that texting while driving is dangerous and that answering that text message is not as important as your life or anyone else’s . Tomorrow take the pledge and join, what is sure to be millions of Americans, who are saying no to texting while driving!

With the collapse of the sale to Chinese company Tengzhong, General Motors announced that Hummer will be phased out over time. GM will honor the vehicle’s warranty coverage, but it will have an effect on limousine services throughout the world.
Hummers have become quite popular in the industry with the H2 and H3 limousines offering more room for large parties. It is still unknown what the closure of Hummer will mean, but we are hoping that another manufacturer will create something to replace the demand Hummer created.
