Will the Shadow Hawk STV fill the void left by GM’s Hummer? The STV, Super Terrain Vehicle, is a mix between a SUV and an armored tank. This all terrain vehicle is equipped with a full armor plating, daylight cameras, active suspension, camber and caster control systems, driver activated height control, 46 inch wheel travel and monocoque construction.

Designed to fit any body type, the seating area will adjust to the driver, similar to that of a race car. The steering wheel, pedals and instruments move towards you providing the driver with the ultimate driving experience. If we haven’t peaked your interest yet, the engine on the STV is an astounding 1,100 hp engine, this car will go from 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds. The cost of the Shadow Hawk is around $1 million and scheduled to be released late 2011.

Last week Portland, Oregon became the first city in the United States to have a public quick charging station for electric cars. Portland General Electric (PGE) installed the Takasago Rapid Charging Station at their Salmon Street headquarters. The EV station should charge a lithium ion battery to 80% in just 20 to 30 minutes.

“Quick-charging stations are an exciting advancement in our effort to bring electric vehicles to Oregon,” said Governor Ted Kulongoski. “By making charging convenient and available for public use, we are telling car manufacturers that Oregon is ready for the next generation of electric vehicles.”
