The World’s Most Expensive Car
We recently read on Car Vogue that a 1936 Bugatti 57SC Atlanta surpassed the 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa as the world’s most expensive car to be auctioned off. Automobile auction house Gooding & Company brokered the deal between the estate of renowned car collector Dr. Peter D. Williamson and the Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard, Ca.
With fewer than 8,000 automobiles emerging from the Alsatian factory in Molsheim in over a hundred years, it is no wonder this car fetched a sum ranging between $30million and $40million. Bugatti is truly a paradigm in French deco styling.
