Frontier Airlines just made it easier to travel to the mid-Texas region from Kansas City. The Frontier Airlines recently announced it will be providing nonstop service from Kansas City International Airport (MCI) to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) beginning November 18, 2010. You can currently purchase your fare for these flights on FrontierAirlines.com.
Mark VanLoh, director of aviation in Kansas City, stated that “Frontier’s growth at KCI is a sign of their commitment to Kansas City.” The Kansas City to mid-Texas region usually generates around 400 passengers a day, all who are currently forced to connect in another airport. This is Frontier’s 14th nonstop destination from Kansas City.

Kansas City is bustling with exciting events this weekend, starting tomorrow with the opening of Cirque Du Soleil: Alegría at the Sprint Center. Running from May 12th to the 16th, Alegria, Spanish for jubilation shows the evolution of power from generation to generation.
Also opening tomorrow is the “Edward Steichen: In High Fashion: The Condé Nast Years 1923-1937″ at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. The exhibit, which will be here through the 16th, will feature approximately 150 works by one of the most leading figures in photography, Edward Steichen. Steichen was chief photographer for Vogue and Vanity Fair.
Not to be missed is Conan O’Brien, who will be headlining at the Midland by AMC on May 15th. The two-month, 30-city tour began on April 12th and is titled “Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television”. The cast also includes Andy Richter and the former Tonight Show band.
